Valeri Vladimirovich ‘Val’ Bure was born on June 13, 1974, in Moscow, Soviet Union. His father belonged to the Furna, Switzerland and was the Olympic medallist in swimming for the Soviet Union three times since 1968. At the age of 9, Bure was separated from his father. He lived with his mother and shifted to Los Angeles. His training was completed under the vision of Pavel and Valeri for hockey and physical exercise.
