West was born in 1983 on 26th July in Washington, DC(United States). He belongs to an African American family. He went to Eleanor Roosevelt High School (Greenbelt, Maryland). His fellow NBA player Eddie Baden also went there. He led the team to their first-ever tournament appearance.
