Born on 7th December 1949, in Valparaiso, Indiana, to Jesse Frank, who was his father and Alma Fern, who a Norwegian and Oregon his mother. Thomas has one younger sister and one older sister. Alma, Alan’s mother, was a regular churchgoer and a conventional housewife. His father was a Spanish teacher in a local school and was also an alcoholic.
