Desean Jackson was born on 1 December 1986 in Los Angeles, California, to Bill and Gayle Jackson. He has an older brother by the name Byron who also played as a wider receiver for two seasons with the Kansas City chiefs. Jackson attended the Long Beach Polytechnic High School. While still in high school, Desean was named the 2004 Glen Davis Award winner as southern California’s player of the year by the Los Angeles Times. Through this, he became one of the best high school footballer recruits in the nation, with so many colleges lining up to recruit him. Still, in high school, Jackson played baseball and even ran tracks.
During his senior year, he caught 60 passes for 1075 yards for 15 touchdowns, which led his team, the Jackrabbits to the CIF Southern Section Championship. In 2004 he was named All American by the Preps tar Magazine and also voted Mr. Football state player of the year. As he was completing his high school career, Jackson was voted the most valuable player at the U.S Army All-American Bowl in Texas. In 2009, Jackson’s father died of pancreatic cancer.

Desean went to The University of California for his college studies. While studying there, he played for the school team the California Golden Bears for two years that is from 2005 to 2007. During his college career, he has also titled An All American player. He could not complete his 2007 season with the California Golden Bears because he had declared for the 2008 NFL Draft. Through this, he was picked in the second round by the Philadelphia Eagles, who signed him on a four-year deal in July 2008.
While playing for the Eagles on one Monday night game, Desean celebrated early before running to the end zone and happened to flip the ball to the one-yard line costing his team to lose the game. Still, on the same game, he became the only NFL player to have received over 100 yards in his first two games.
In the 2010 season, Jackson faced a shadow on his career as The Eagles were not willing to negotiate an extension with him despite Jackson reporting to training earlier than the other players to cover the training he had missed in the spring of that year.
