Before having their claim to fame, the Hill brothers Dusty and Rocky were a part of a few local Dallas bands, which includes The American Blues, Cellar Dwellers, and the Warlocks. They were part of the American blues from 1966 to 1968 and were performing the Dallas Fort Worth Houston circuit. They became part of a fake version of the British band The Zombies with Beard in 1969.
In 1968, they decided to move to Houston instead. While Rocky wanted to spend more time focusing on ‘straight blues,’ Frank Beard and Dusty Hill were more inclined towards rock music. At Houston, Frank and Dusty were joined by Billy Gibbons, who was a singer and guitarist in the psychedelic rock band Moving Sidewalks, and thus the ZZ Top was created. The group dropped their first single in 1969. Apart from his career in music, Dusty has made numerous on-screen appearances in various movies.
Few of the notable ones include Back to Future III, Mother Goose Rock ‘n’ Rhyme, WWE Raw, and Deadwood.
