Jennifer Mary “Jenna” Elfman was born on September 30, 1971, in Los Angeles, California, U.S. to her parents, Sue (Grace) Butala and Richard Butala. Her father works for the Hughes Aircraft executive, and her mother is a homemaker. She has two siblings, and her uncle Tony Butala was the lead singer of the American vocal trio The Lettermen.
At the age of five, she started learning ballet at the Westside School of Ballet but later gave it up due to an injury.
