I have adored Joan Baez since I saw her perform at the Santa Barbara Bowl . I lived there at the time and a friend asked me to go. I was astounded that this beautiful young girl in a peasant dress and barefooted had such a marvelous voice.I have been a devotee ever since. That was in the 50’s or early 60’s. but I do know I’m 11 years older than she is and I’m still a fan and have one of her CD’s going anytime I’m in my car. I did see her again in San Francisco on her Farewell Tour, but it was not one of her best because there were fires burning all around us. You could tell it was difficult for her to sing. I still loved seeing and hearing her. I keep hoping she’ll do a concert in S.F. again since she lives so close. That would be a wonderful dream.
