John Gotti was born on 27th October 1940 in South Bronx, New York. His father’s name was J. Joseph Gotti and his mother were Fannie, who was Italian immigrants. His father works as day labor and finds it pretty hard to run a family of 13 children. Gotti was fifth among them. Before settling in East New York, Gotti’s family moved a lot due to financial problems. At the time, East New York was infamous for its youth gang activity.
