On 17 December 1954, Kenneth Carleton Frazier was born in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, united states of America. His father Otis was a janitor, and his mother died when he was twelve years old. Kenneth has said Thurgood Marshall was one of his heroes while he was growing up. Kenneth attended Julia r. Masterman School and northeast high school.
After graduation at the age of 16, he entered Pennsylvania State University; he raised tadpoles and newts and sold them to local stores in order to make extra money in college. He later enrolled at Harvard University to study law after earning his BA from Penn State and graduated in 1978 with a J.D.

Kenneth began his career with Drinker Biddle & Reath after graduating from Harvard. He was asked by Esther F. Lardent, head of the death penalty representation project, to defend death-row inmate James Willie ‘’Bo’’ Cochran who had been arrested and accused of murdering an assistant manager at a Birmingham grocery store in 1976.
Kenneth and two other colleagues took the case, however in 1995, 19 years later, on death row, the United States Courts of Appeals for the eleventh circuit overturn Cochran’s conviction. He was retried and not found guilty, and Kenneth continued to represent him after leaving Drinker Biddle.
During his law career, Kenneth also took summer sabbaticals to teach trial advocacy in South Africa. Kenneth also worked for Merck & Co, the second-largest drug company in the United States. He joined Merck & Co in 1992 as general counsel and was named senior general counsel in 1999. He was later promoted to executive vice president in 2006, and he leads the company’s largest group until April 2010, where he was named president of Merck & Co. he sold 60,000 shares of the firm in 2016, and the stock was sold at an average price of $64.44.
Kenneth is a member of the American law institute and serves on its council. He also delivered a keynote speech at the ALI Annual Dinner in May 2013. Kenneth was also a member of president trump’s American manufacturing council. However, he resigned from the council on August 14, 2017, following the violent 2017 unite the right rally in Virginia.
