Larry Wilcox was born on 8th august 1947 in San Diego. He is the son of Marion G. and John C. Wilcox. He, with his three other siblings, was raised in Rawlins, Wyoming, by his single mother. Larry went to Rawlins High School and then to the University of Wyoming. Later he was transferred to Los Angeles Pierce College.
He later did many jobs and did acting and rodeo cowboy too. He then applied for the Marine Corps in May 1967 and served in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive.

Personal Life
Larry was married three times in his entire life till now, and he was married to his first wife, Judy Vagner, on March 29, 1969. His first marriage with Judy happened when he was serving his last months of duty after returning from the Vietnam War. He has two children with her, namely Derek and Haidi. Later he married Hannie Strasser, who was a Dutch Native. He was a one-time CHiPs assistant sound technician. The wedding happened on April 11, 1980, and the honeymoon happened in New Zealand. He has one daughter with her who was born in 1982, and they were divorced immediately after. The custody Wendy was given to Larry.
On March 22, 1986, he married Malene Harmon, who was a member of the 1980 Olympic heptathlon team. Currently, they reside in the San Fernando Valley with their two sons.
In November 2010, Wilcox pleaded guilty to criminal charges of conspiracy to commit the security fraud. U.S. Justice Department alleged him that he had paid a commission, which was illegal. When he was pleaded guilty, he stated before the court, “This was an aberration as I betrayed my core values with what I did. I am deeply sorry.” He was later charged $100, 3 years of probation, and 500 hours of community service. Still, he then performed over 1,000 hours of community service.
