In his amateur career, Ricky Fowler became the winner of Western Junior in 2005. He has also competed in the US Amateur and US Junior Amateur. In 2007, he represented his nation in the Walker Cup. This was followed by winning the Sunnehanna Amateur and Players Amateur. In 2008, he participated in the Eisenhower Trophy and finished second.
He turned professional in 2009 and was the runner-up in the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational. Later he signed an equipment deal with Titleist and Rolex. He then participated in the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and finished seventh.
