I was surprised to find Robert Blake still living, as I had been informed he had passed on. I am glad to see he is still on this side of the sod. He has always been my favorite actor and I was also surprised that he shares the same birth date as my husband who looks a great deal like him, although he is younger. My Donnie was also a little beefcake when he was younger and if you put a picture of when he was 38 beside that of Robert Blake in Cold Blood they could be taken as twins; only the eyes are different. Needless to say I am Robert’s number one fan. My wish for him is that he may yet find that little country waitress and spend a few nights in that desert trailer looking up at the stars.
Bobby Blake and I met at my 5th birthday-3 month from his own. He came as Little Beaver with WM.[]Wild Bill] Wm Elliott, and we met at lake hues and in the Army. He was at my birthday as Bill was my Dads cousin and was RED RYDER AND LITTLE BEAVER in the Sat movies. I was given a Red Ryder BB gun and was the Cock of the walk on the streets when I went by with my BB gun.
I met Robert Blake in 1981 when he was arrested for participation in the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant protest. Blake was arrested and incarcerated for about one week at the Cuesta College gym in San Luis Obispo. I was a California State Correctional officer at the time. Each night I would converse with Robert. I am a bodybuilder and Robert also a weightlifter. After about a week he told me he had to get out and posted bail with the DA. He thanked me and gave his phone number which I have long ago lost.
In 1970 I was headed to ottumwa iowa and spotted a guy on interstate 80 near iowa city I pulled over went up to the guy and helped change his tire. He ask what do I owe you I nothing and than it came to me who it was, Bobby Blake I was usher him well as I turned around he stuck a $20 in my hip pocket and jumped in his car off he went.
