Early Life
Scott Aukerman was born on July 2nd, 1970 in Savannah, Georgia to American parents Burn and Linda Aukerman. He spent his childhood in Orange County, California and attended two schools, namely, Cypress High School and Orange County High School. His interest in art kept him busy throughout his childhood as he learnt acting, theatre and play-writing.
Scott’s interest in music led to the formation of the band named The Naked Postmen with Adrian Young. Although the band didn’t last many years, his partner Adrian Young went on to become a professional drummer for the band No Doubt.

After finishing college, Scott Aukerman attended Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts and in 1995 toured throughout the country as a theatre music director. He started his professional career at the request of his friends when he and Porter took up the name “The Fun Bunch” and started performing at The Comedy Store, LA.
They were noticed by Bob Odenkirk, co-creator of “Mr Show” during their second performance and were roped in to write the fourth season of the show and occasionally perform as well. Scott was nominated for Emmy along with the crew and cast in 1999 for his work on the show. After the show was cancelled, the duo tried their hands at writing film, and television scripts and have been part of various films. Some of them include “Run Ronnie Run” and “Shark Tale” among others.
They continued their comedy sketches with the 2002 alternative comedy showcase “Comedy Death-Ray”. It was later turned into a comedy podcast hosted by Scott Aukerman in 2009 named “Comedy Death-Ray Radio” on Indie 103.1, LA radio station.
