Premise

The show revolves around two brothers, Shawn and Marlon Williams, and their day-to-day lives. Their father, John “Pops” Williams, is played by John Witherspoon, who owns a restaurant of the name Pops’ Joint. The show made many transitions in Season 2.

They cut off Lela Rochon, who played the role of Lisa Saunders, Shawn’s ex-girlfriend. Paula Jai Parker, who played the role of Monique, who was Marlon’s love interest, was cut off after the 11th episode of season 2. Anna Maria Horsford, who played the role of Dee Baxter, replaced Jill Tasker, who played the role of Lou, who was the former security guard in the 8th episode.

It was shown that Shawn worked at APS in Season 1, but later it was shown that he worked at his newsstand from season 2, and Marlon was also shown to work with his father at Pops Diner, but he started working at his newsstand along with his brother from season 2.
